SCCM 2010 Upgrade

Hi Guys,


Today we are talking about upgrading sccm 2010 version. Before starting, I just inform you about that upgrading is an in-console update and there is no Sccm 2010 baseline version. That's why if you want to upgrade this version of SCCM , you shoul need at least sccm 2002 version already installed on your environment.


The main questions of all Ape of IT guys, is that we really need to upgrade it ? - Answer is YES, let look at what is new features of SCCM 2010 version ;

Let's start to upgrade our environment to Sccm 2010 version ; as usually starting to upgrade such as this kind improvement, I suggest that please take at least incremental backup ıf you already taken full back up of you sccm site server then Before you install or upgrade to SCCM 2010, you must ensure you know the prerequisites. Here are some of the prerequisites checklist that you need to look into before installing Configuration Manager 2010 update.

  • Update 2010 for Configuration Manager current branch is available as an in-console update.

  • To apply this update on your sites, ensure you have installed SCCM version 1906 or later.

  • If you’re running a multi-tier hierarchy, start at the top-level site in the hierarchy. First perform the CAS upgrade, later you can begin the upgrade of each child site. Complete the upgrade of each site before you begin to upgrade the next site.

  • Ensure that you are running a supported Operating System and SQL Server version.

After Pre-Requisite checked without any error, you should able to see "Ready to İnstall" on sccm console as you can see below.



So, we already finished prerequest checked then continue with "Ignore any....." clicked.



Then we see related features which comes with sccm 2010 version;






After installation has been started, you can see status of it from sccm console as clicking "Show status" field.


Finally, after finished new sccm console installing, you can see your current version of sccm which called as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager on below.

  • Console Version – 5.2010.1093.1800

  • Site Version – 5.0.9040.1000
